My name is Emma Oswald.
I retrained, and qualified, as a hypnotherapist in 2019.
I offer confidential and non judgmental hypnotherapy sessions in a safe and comfortable space.
I have experience in most, if not all areas, and am confident in working with any presenting issue that a client requires my help with.
I do have an extra specialist qualification 'Hypnosis and Psychotherapy for Fertility'.
One of the main reasons that I retrained in hypnotherapy was because of the huge impact hypnosis had on my own fertility journey. I am now a proud Mum of my rainbow, miracle IVF twin daughters and I know that hypnotherapy allowed me to be the best version of myself and handle not only the emotional rollercoaster of emotions that assisted conception brings but also during the two week wait and my complicated pregnancy thereafter.
I believe that everyone should be living their best life and being the best version of themselves. If you are not then hypnotherapy could be your answer... There is no harm in trying?
Hypnosis is is a perfectly natural state with no known side effects. It is a trace like state in which the client has a heightened focus and concentration.
Whilst everyone's experience is different, client's usually feel calm and relaxed during the therapy session, allowing their subconscious mind more open to positive suggestions. It is important to know that contrary to how hypnosis is portrayed in films, you don't lose control at all. You are aware of everything that is happening and what is being said.
We all get stuck in patterns of behaviour at times that can seem hard to break away from, positive change might be easier to reach than you might expect.

All Fertility Related Matters : Assisted Conception (IVF, ICSI, IUI), Unexplained Infertility, Miscarriage and Recurrent Miscarriages.
Getting pregnant (and then seeing that pregnancy through to 'full term') can be a very stressful experience for many couples; myself included.
1 in 4 people have no explanation for their fertility issues. I, myself, struggled with unexplained infertility issues for years, and having been through rounds of ICSI, I know first hand the emotional impact fertility treatment can have on every area of life.
I have experienced the heartache that miscarriages can bring.
I have been awarded the title of 'Certified Hypnotic Fertility Practitioner' by the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy.
I am able to assist those:
- Who may be about to start trying to conceive naturally; and want to mentally prepare for pregnancy and physically relax their mind and body for the change.
- Who are about to start medical investigations; and want to feel relaxed and positive about the future.
- About to start their IVF/ICSI/IUI journey. You may have anxieties around what to expect from your treatment plan or feel deflated before you have even started. Hypnotherapy can help you feel positive and confident about the future.
- Already going through treatment. Teaching you techniques to manage and reduce your stress levels in between appointments, build your confidence and outlook and restore your emotional balance.

Stop Smoking / Vaping
Tobacco smoke contains nicotine, which is highly addictive and causes psychological dependence.
I can work with you to customise a one off hypnosis session, to help shift the mental blocks stopping you from being able to Stop Smoking and/or Vaping.
If you really do want to quit, then by working with your subconscious mind I can help to change the belief that keeps you smoking.
Putting on weight can make you feel sluggish, less confident and can even cause low mood and depression.
Are you struggling with dieting and it is making you miserable?
I can work with you and discuss your relationship with food.
I can use imagery and visualisations to relax you and as a result, your subconscious mind will be more receptive to change. I can then look to retrain your eating habits and help you loose weight that will actually stay off.
I can offer audio recordings tailored to your own specific dietary habits, which you can then listen to as often as you require.
Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Prolonged anxiety can have a negative effect on our bodies and minds.
I am speaking with a lot of clients who are feeling particularly anxious following the pandemic.
People are worrying about returning to work, worrying that their loved ones will be travelling on public transport, concerned that their older (and more vulnerable) family and friends will be potentially exposed to the virus.
Anxiety and stress can lead to panic attacks, and physical symptoms, which are often frightening to the person experiencing them.
Prolonged anxiety, stress and panic attacks can be all consuming.
Hypnotherapy can help you deal with, and control, anxiety and panic attacks by helping you with new coping strategies; and sessions 'tailored' just for you.
Fears and Phobias

Nerves around exams are sometimes good as they fuel our adrenaline to kick in and you sometimes hear people say 'oh I work better under pressure'. But for a lot of people nerves can 'get the better of them' and their true abilities are not able to shine through as a result.

Hypnosis is a non-drug therapy than can be useful in reducing pain in chronic conditions such arthritis and fibromyalgia.
Being in permanent pain creates low mood and whilst I can't 'cure' the pain,
I can work with you to teach you techniques so that you can use them when experiencing pain/a flare up.
